This privacy policy applies to the Kitchenette app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by Raitis Šaripo (collectively, the "Application"). Raitis Šaripo is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".
Kitchenette is designed to work without an account. The contents of your fridge and freezer, your recipes, your shopping list, and your saved conversions and scalings are stored on your device and in its app group container, which is what allows the Kitchenette widget to read them. Expiry reminders are scheduled locally by iOS.
None of this content is sent to the Service Provider. There is no Kitchenette account, and the Service Provider cannot see your recipes, your products, or what you cook. The only exceptions are described in the sections below.
Kitchenette can sync your recipes, including any photos attached to them, so that they appear on every device signed in to the same Apple Account. This is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off again at any time in Settings.
When it is on:
When you scan a barcode, Kitchenette sends that barcode to Open Food Facts, an open food products database, in order to look up a product name, brand and category so the form can fill itself in. The request contains the barcode and an identifier for the app itself; it does not contain your name, your device identifiers, or anything else about you or the rest of your kitchen. As with any internet request, Open Food Facts will receive the IP address the request came from. Nothing is sent unless you scan a barcode, and you can add products by hand instead.
Kitchenette uses the camera in two places: to scan barcodes, and to take a photo of a dish for a recipe. You can also choose an existing photo from your photo library. Photos you attach to a recipe are stored with that recipe on your device, and are included in iCloud sync if you have turned it on. Photos are never sent to the Service Provider. Barcode scanning is processed live on the device; camera frames are not recorded, stored or transmitted.
Kitchenette uses Apple's on-device intelligence for two optional features: suggesting a dish from what is in your fridge, and generating an illustration for a recipe. Both run entirely on your device using Apple's built-in models.
The contents of your fridge, your recipes and any generated result are not sent to the Service Provider, and are not sent to any external server for these features. No content from these features is used to train any model. These features require a device that supports Apple Intelligence; where a device does not support them, Kitchenette simply matches your own saved recipes against your fridge instead, which is also done on the device.
The Application collects analytics and crash information when you download and use it, in order to find bugs and understand which features are used. This information may include:
Analytics events record which action happened — for example that a conversion was performed or a recipe was created — and never the content you entered. The names of your products and recipes, your notes, your expiry dates and your photos are not included in analytics or crash reports.
The Application or its third-party SDKs may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to support functionality, analytics, or service delivery. Where required by applicable law, the Service Provider will obtain consent before using non-essential tracking technologies.
Kitchenette does not collect the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not display advertising, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data held by the Service Provider. To exercise these rights, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, contact the Service Provider at saripo.raitis@gmail.com.
Please note that content stored only on your device, or in your own iCloud, is under your control rather than the Service Provider's: you can delete it in the Application, and by deleting the Application, and — for iCloud — in the iOS Settings app under your name → iCloud → Manage Storage.

The Application uses a small number of third-party services, listed below. Analytics and crash data transmitted to them is limited to the information described under "Information Collection and Use", and does not include the content you enter into the Application. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.
The Service Provider or its third-party service providers may transfer personal data to countries outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, the Service Provider will use appropriate mechanisms.

Kitchenette Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple. Payment is handled by Apple and the Service Provider never receives or sees your payment details. Subscription status is managed with the help of RevenueCat so that a purchase can be restored on your other devices.
You can stop further collection of information from your mobile device by uninstalling the Application. Uninstalling will stop the Application from collecting data from your device, but it does not automatically delete information that has already been transmitted to the Service Provider or to third parties. If you had iCloud sync turned on, uninstalling the Application does not delete the copy in your iCloud; remove it in the iOS Settings app under your name → iCloud → Manage Storage.

The Application is not intended for children under 16 years of age, or such higher age as required by applicable law. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit data from children or market the Application to them.
Where parental or guardian consent is required under applicable law, the Application is not intended for use without that consent. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16 years of age in violation of applicable law. In the event the Service Provider discovers that a child has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided the Service Provider with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (saripo.raitis@gmail.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.
If a data breach occurs that affects your personal data, the Service Provider will notify you in accordance with applicable legal requirements, including, where required, providing information about the nature of the breach and the steps being taken to address it.
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy with an effective date.
